The IFB AdiposityDiseases has an elected board of directors with ten members. They decide on all essential questions concerning the IFB.
The IFB AdiposityDiseases started with an ad personam board of directors in May 2010. After an initial phase of two years the members of the general meeting elected a new board of directors in 2012. As of December 2014 the currently acting board of directors has been elected. The board of directors elects among themselves the scientific director. The managing director of the IFB is advisory member of the board but has no right of vote.
The board of directors decides all questions about all structural, financial and longterm relevant scientific questions of the IFB. For this it stands in regular exchange with the external advisory board. The board of directors appoints the heads of research groups and can also recall them. It furthermore appoints a selection committee, which suggests candidates for the student career board and the internal review board. The members of the board of directors are in charge of any decisions concerning the IFB but need the agreement of the external advisory board when it comes to strategic decisions and setting up new research projects.
